How To Determine The Total Number Of Bottles Using An Equation

The Problem

Each skid holds 3 boxes by 3 boxes on each level
Each box is filled with a maximum of 100 Bottles.
Sometimes each box has an amount less than 100 (between 1 and 10)
I will use the variable "d" to represent this.
The skid can be packed with any number of layers of boxes
I will use the variable "h" to represent this.
We need to know how many individual bottles are on the entire skid.

The Solution

I came up with this formula to make it easy and quick to figure out.

900h-9hd=y

Where "h" is how many boxes high the skid is.
Where "d" is how many bottles short of 100 each box is.
where "y" is how many bottle there are in total on the skid.

The skid in the example above will have 5 layers and each
box is short 4 bottles.
Therefore:
900x5-9x5x4=y
4500-180=y
y=4320
This skid will have 4320 bottles in total.
